As a professional expatriate I have travelled all my adult life. I have lived in about 10 countries at the last count. This gives my music a pretty eclectic feel I think, but my roots are very much in Scotland, where I was born..

I would like to spend more of my time sailing the Arabian Gulf looking for the elusive mermaids that are said to inhabit the lonely sand-covered islands. But this might just be a myth.

My style of songwriting is thematic, with one of my current themes being focused on the meaning of Home and Away "Lantern in the Storm" – talking of one's homeland and how it will never be far- no matter the distance between them - and "halfway to nowhere"- talks of the need to someday settle down and give up the roaming life.

I produce all my own material in my own studio in Bahrain with the assistance of the Garret Boys and in particular Andrew, whose arrangement and production skills, George can only hope of one day emulating.

I prefer a good glass of wine to a good glass of beer.

And In my spare time I am managing director of a large industrial multinational in Saudi Arabia.
