Biography
Ned Couch and Deni Mahoney started playing a few years ago as a duo, doing mainly traditional songs with a few of their own thrown in for good measure. Encouraged by the response, they made an album and as their ambitions grew, took on two more members; string ace Chris Wolfe (bouzouki, guitar and banjo) and the very talented Geoff Horne (double bass, guitar and vocals). This added much more scope to their sound and brought a lot of interest, with many favourable reviews. After a good couple of years recording and gigging at local festivals and concerts and receiving many radio plays worldwide, the band decided to take a break and the individual members are currently working on solo and other musical projects, including new acts, workshops, songwriting, a folk roots agency, solo albums and orchestral work.

'Spine-tingling and rich solo and harmony vocals.'
MP3 Machine

'An excellent mix of music - from haunting melodies to stirring 'battle' songs. Highly recommended. '
Paul Turner - Adelaide

'More than promising.' Folk Roots

Real earthy folk music with excellent arrangements, a gem of a CD. Performed with casual style which only comes with years of experience in live folk music venues across UK and Europe.I recommend you listen to all the tracks carefully to get every little subtle variation in this supreme work ..peace out Les

A snippet from the first album review for how Well I Remember

I enjoy June Tabor and Maddy Prior so when I heard Mad Rush I became an automatic fan. As a bonus, Mad Rush have a more traditional feel to their music, but my favorite is a real traditional, "The Trees They Do Grow High". '
A real English folk lady's voice'

hi there, what a pity more people don't do the music you do. I love it. It's not dissimilar to the music I do with friend and music collaborator Steve Wilson. One day someone is going to realise that English music is absolutely fab and has a major place in music culture and history. Keep up the excellent work. You'll find us here too - Maeran English Folk Music. All the best and Happy christmas (Dom and Steve - Maeran)
