There is absolutely nothing finer than hearing great tunes, played really well on the Uilleann Pipes! Nice work Steve. Cheers, Dick |

Thank you so much for your comments Daniel. I'm currently listening to your concertina version of the Blackbird. You definitely have some different versions, although the second is familiar to me. You play so nicely though...great control, tempo and a thorough understanding of the music. I got my version of the Blackbird from the playing of Paddy Glackin...he plays it first as a slow air, and then at dance tempo. I'm glad you're playing An Phis Fluich again. Its a great tune, although I do get a bit embarrased when people ask me what it means. I just tell them that its a bit rude, and if they really want to know, to ask me in private.....The Boy in the Bush tho.... *lol* Thanks again Daniel and keep up the great playing. |

Steve, I love your piping! You have wonderful control and I particularly like your use of the regulators. The Plains of Boyle and the Blackbird is a great set. I was unfamiliar with your version of the Blackbird. I have recorded two other versions together that come from Kevin Burke on my concertina album on my site here. Have a listen and let me know if you like them. I have been playing along with An Phis Fluich, (which Noel Hill recorded as "The Boy in the Bush" hmmmm). It was a favorite of mine ever since I heard it on the first Chieftains album I owned. Thanks for reminding me that its in my repetoire. |

Thanks for your kind words Ed, its nice to get such positive feedback. As I am sure you realise, the pipes are a rather 'demanding' instrument and I well remember spending many hours in the early years sounding like a demented goose (honk honk) ;) I'll certainly be uploading more tunes here when I get the time to record them, so please keep an eye on my tune list :) Once again, many thanks Ed |

I'm new to this site and am just blown away by the talent here! What a great place to hear good music. I've always loved uillean pipes and you make it sound so easy! Thanks for sharing your tunes. |
