honesty

When discussing songwriting and lyrical content with anyone I always maintain that you have to be honest. Honest, not in a factual sense but emotional. If you can distill a feeling whether pain, joy, love, hate or fear into a few lines of song you'll connect with your listener. Be honest with the fundamental drivers of what it means to be human and you'll connect with other humans.

I've posted a new song today "death of an atheist" which is about as honest as I could get - factually and emotionally. Also, I wanted to explore whether religious beliefs have an effect on near death experiences.

Also, remember that my "skeleton" songs for the album "Sweetheart of the raceway" are still available to download and add your instrument to. Once you've added your track email me the track (just your bit) to rob@robbeckinsale.com. I'll incorporate it into the finished track and load the track back onto this site. Everyone involved will get a credit! Have fun.
