Biography
Started playing in bands in 76 in a UK punk band Accident On The East Lancs, left that band in 82 to deal with personal problems, they call it rehab these days. Played in funk band Paradise Dance and Citizen 88, then rediscovered my roots in 86, started playing blues and country, a style which is now labelled Amercana, suits me fine. Spent fifteeen years on the road as a tour manager, still wrote songs, but not much time to play them. In 2000 started recording what would eventually become Walking In Familiar Footsteps, with Hilly Briggs who I met on the last tour I did with Errol Brown, Hilly was in the support band, with blues player Ray Minhinnit. Eventually released the album on my own label Lanta Records in 2004, and it features Mick Taylor, ex Rolling Stones, Paul Jones on harp from The Manfred's /Blues Band, and from USA Jeff and Tommy Vee on drums and bass respectively. Now I write with Paul Green, who also played on the album and we have two albums of material, some of which you can hear on this site. It' s the best writing relationship I have had, we both know instinctively what is needed. I'm doing a lot of acoustic gigs in and around London at the moment, both solo and with Paul, and continue recording songs out of my vast storage of songs. Hope you like them.

Really enjoyed Living With a Lie. Sat here tapping away, then picked up the guitar to find out what key. A Surprise !! Totally new sound from E for me. Loved it. Keep 'em coming. Regards, Smiffy.
