I am basically an Americana singer/songwriter,drawing from in-
fluences of traditional and contemporary folk,as well as bluegrass
and newgrass. I like old-style country of different flavors,but do
not care for current trends in top 40 of that genre. I grew up with
eclectic tastes in music,listening to and singing everything from the Beatles to Lefty Frizzell, and Johnny Cash.I was inluenced by
the cowboy songs that my maternal grandfather sung, and the
old-time fiddle tunes and reels that my dad played. I started to
play guitar and write songs at a very young age,singing in the
church,and performing for friends and relatives. I have since played various types of venues and am currently getting some
exposure at open mics in my area. I plan on going professional
when I retire from my present job, and am planning on playing
the coffee house and festival circuit, as well as performing at
house concerts,which are the going thing these days. I have a
home produced CD of just my guitar accompaniment and vocals
on all original material, and am in the process of entering a pres-
tigious song writing contest, as well as showcasing my music
on other websites, and networking with others in this field of the
