ME & MARTHA That is Don DePoy & Martha Hills
ON THE ROAD HOME
This release is primarily a vehicle for showcasing the talents of Don DePoy, guitar, autoharp, banjo, and lead vocals,. He is assisted by Martha Hills on bass and harmony vocals. The 17 selections come from a variety of sources and include Dooley, Truck Driving Man, Roseville Fair, and the instrumental Over The Waterfalls. One of the more interesting performances is a medley of the traditional Water Bound and the Warner Mack country classic, Bridge Washed Out. In summary, On The Road Home is a pleasant offering of acoustic music that echoes with simplicity and sincerity.

Music Makers Guide |
Music Maker Guide with CD
Featuring over 100 bluegrass songs & chord progressions.
This book is specifically written to help connect the musical dots and get folks making music by ear. All too often musicians seem to learn individual songs without an understanding as to how all songs are interrelated. Focusing specifically on the bluegrass genre, Don stirs a bit of theory and chords to reveal that most of the songs we play have only 6 common chord progressions. Come to know the progressions and songs take on a different quality.
Learning to be a Music Maker is unlike tabulature. Memorization of note-for-note for every song is not necessary. The Music Maker's Guide connects the dots. Playing back-up and making runs are essentially chord formulas that works with multiple songs and different keys. The Music Makers Guide comes with a CD illustrating the written material and discusses the use of a capo, transposing from one key to another, basic guitar and bass runs, time signatures and tuning. Over 100 songs are provided with chord progressions. ($24.95) |
