My Bio

My Bio Seems as though folks do come by and listen to my music and watch my video. Feedback sure would be nice though. The following is the bio I wrote for MySpace. You can check out some of my other work there. www.myspace.com/uncledonclark

UNCLE DON'S BIO (Me oh my oh)
My interest in music started early. By age 8 I had my first real guitar. By age 10 I started learning how to play. I watched others but taught myself. At 10 1/2 I wrote my first folk song. At the time I didn't even know what folk music was. I still play it. The next 37 1/2 years I worked perfecting a style. I have yet to determine what that really is. (It was very hard to give MySpace the info because of this.) My music became more eclectic. Music was changing so much, during that time, and there was such diversity. I gleaned what I thought to be the best of each style. I still write and play that way. Whatever works. Remember that phrase. In 1975 I played my first solo gig. In 1982 I started getting paid for it. Since then I have been in 4 different bands. One of them, my own band, The Don Clark Trio. There were as few as two and as many as seven members in the "trio". We put out one CD entitled 'Whatever Works". Sound familiar? I wrote and sang all the songs on that one. During all that, I bounced back and forth with solos and bands. Currently I am a solo singer/songwriter. My performances consist of 90-99% originals. I have never counted the songs in my catalog but I know it numbers over 100. That's not to say they're all good. That's not my call. I love them all. One other thing I want to add is that I am in a band now but we only play occasionally. That would be like once or twice a year. The band is called The Secret Commonwealth, a Celtic folk rock band. Erin Go Bragh! You can always count on us playing on St. Patrick's Day if no other time. That's pretty much it until I figure out a better way to write a bio.

Letter To Megan

Letter To Megan This song was #1 on th 29th of July last year. I was excited with that position but the subject of the song, my beautiful daughter, has a permanent #1 position in my heart.

Megan graduated from high school a few months ago and will be going off to college in the fall. She and I have lived in separate homes since she was 5 months old but we have maitained a very close relationship all of those 18 years.

For the first time in many years, Meg is coming to stay for a few days with me. This time she will be driving(sigh).

This will be our last time together before she leaves for school. I don't know when I'll see her again.

To quote the Rolling Stones, "What a drag it is getting old."
