Once, there was a boy named Nathaniel who played guitar. After taking his songwriting through several paths of genre, he decided to buck tradition and strive for originality. And so he and his band dogseesnam dove into experimental rhythms and chord figures, creating music that they prided themselves on, but which was sometimes very facetious.

Upon the breakup of dogseesnam, Nathaniel spent much more time in his room with an acoustic guitar, stripped from his amp and effects pedal, doing what he knew to do: write songs. Through this, he's realized that originality and creativity don't count nearly as much as purely good songwriting.

And so here i am, older and maybe wiser, carrying the realization that simplicity and honesty are better than all of the fancy guitar solos or vaguely poetic lyrics anyone could ever muster.
