Walk Right In was written in 1913 by Gus Cannon, an African-American banjo player from Memphis, Tennessee. In 1930, he recorded the song with his group, The Jug Stompers. In 1963, the song was resurrected with reworked lyrics and twin 12-string guitars by The Roof Top Singers, becoming a hit song. The Roof Top Singers invited Gus Cannon, then long-retired and 80 years old, to tour with them and play his original arrangement of his song for new audiences.
