Lyrics:
Ive never fought for freedom, dont think I ever will
Cause war is something violent, and Im too good to kill
Im not unpatriotic as far as I can see,
Its just that I cant stand what we are doing overseas

I mean, freedoms good in principle, as long as its for me

Chorus:
Im going to Wal-Mart, to protest the wartime sleaze
So leave the lights on, get in gear, gas up the SUV
Ill march down aisles of textiles, made on the foreign dime
Where workers work for cents a week, but can quit any ol time

Im going to Wal-Mart, to protest the wartime sleaze
Where everythings a metaphor for my hypocrisy
Where childs labor made my shirt, well that is just OK
As long as were not bombing them, theyre happier anyway

V2
The food in my Frigidaire stays cold from burning Saudi oil
Oils in my rubber shoes, and the plastic around the spaghetti that I boil
This war is over oil, and its morally reprehensible
But turn my lights and power off, and Ill say bye-bye to my nonviolent principles

Chorus II:
Im going to Wal-Mart, to protest the wartime sleaze
So leave the lights on, get in gear, gas up the SUV
Ill fight for falling prices, as long as it helps me
But fighting for others freedom is called dying senselessly

Im going to Wal-Mart, to protest the wartime sleaze
Where everythings a metaphor for my hypocrisy
I miss seeing my family, because these long lines I cant avoid
But put a Wal-Mart in Iraq and their culture is destroyed

Excellent topic and references, but I'd have gotten the point if the first person singer had stayed in character rather than referring to his own hypocrisy (a little confusing.) I love your poppy style. JMP
