biography
"I'm a blogging fool, so click on "Blogs" to the left of this page and see what's up with me and my Dallas, Texas musical world. You can see lots of great photo journal musical slide shows by Tom Peal too.

I'm a singer, guitarist, accordionist, and mountain dulcimist. I started writing my own songs about twenty-five years ago because I was bored with my repertoire and felt cheeky - since then I've won some kudos and had great fun singing and traveling with my own music. I love character songs and songs that touch on both the grittier and loftier human experiences - that's why I'm attracted to the songs of Fred Eaglesmith, Jacques Brel, Eliza Gilkyson and others. I also have a growing interest in jazz, especially old swing. That's a direction that's really stretching me as a singer and guitarist!
My home is Dallas, Texas, and that's where I do most of my playing. My husband, Tom Peal, and I love to travel, though, and we end up making musical friends nearly everywhere we go. Tom's a photographer and a dedicated chronicler of Americana - our gifts go hand in hand. We are part of a growing musical and artistic community around Texas. Now with the internet, we are making musical friends around the world!
Tom and I host a bi-monthly community open mic in Dallas called Free Dallas Music! Songwriter's Open Mic. You can find out all about it at our Free Dallas Music myspace.com page."
