Lyrics:
I used to know a place that shone as bright as any sun,
there whatever I believed I was, I would become.

And I became a blackbird, saw the dawning morning light,
emerge into my vision as the day began its flight.

Once I was a sparrow, felt the warming morning sun
beneath my feathers as I spread my wings to join the day begun.

And I used to be an eagle, soaring high, cutting the air,
on blade like wings I rode the winds, no-one could catch me there.

Once I was a hedgehog, felt the safest place to be,
was wrapped inside my coat of thorns, untouchable and free.

I used to be a lions roar, once a tiger wild,
all once-upon-a-time when they said I was just a child.

But I used to ride wild horses, cross the ranges just for fun,
and I used to drive a racing car at speeds second to none.

Once I was a pirate, sailed across the oceans wide,
were I to lose my ship in stormy seas I would survive,

To find that desert islands buried treasure of the mind,
all once-upon-a-time enshrined for all of us to find.

Once I was a passing cloud, washed in full moons light,
floating by and drifting round this world of awesome sights,

Where I used to be explorer, wanderer through the days and nights,
while dreams of wonder helped to keep the time of childhood bright.

I used to know a place that shone as bright as any sun,
be bright enough to know that place is inside everyone...
