Biography
Living amongst a musical family of a single mother with ten children, Seth experienced an upbringing like no other. When he was eight years old, his piano accompanist mother began working several jobs and couldn’t afford child-care. So as a substitute for day-care, she regularly dropped him and his siblings off at the local high school for the after-school music programs where they performed in several musicals together.

After several years, these valuable personal and musical experiences groomed Seth to leading roles like the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and Conrad in Bye Bye Birdie. Along the way he began playing guitar and spending much more of his time exploring other instruments such as the banjo, the digery doo, and the jaw harp, all of which allowed him an important means of expression and escape.

Seth has since become a song writer, audio engineer, and experienced artist in both group and solo settings, and has lived in the cultural music hubs of Seattle, San Francisco, and New York. His song, Sailing Fool was recently featured on National Public Radio and his song, Chores won “Most Original” on Garageband.com. He also recently scored music for the documentary film, The Wait List (2008).

Seth’s originality shatters traditional boundaries of musical genre segmentation. He boldly writes music in new directions regardless of what appeal it may have on the musical ear of today. It is genuinely talented artists like Seth Lael that lead us to new places in music that both listeners and creators quickly find themselves appreciating.

'What I know' reminds me of early ROY HARPER [one of the greatest British singer/songwriters of all time] and still going strong.Great song.
