John Patrick Williams has been writing songs and performing them for a little over twenty years. Drawing inspiration from artists such as; John Prine, David Bromberg, CSN&Y, Charlie Romans, Honey Boy Williams and Yes, as well as any other musician who performed their work with honesty and enjoyment. "I love playing and singing the blues and my original pieces that are an eclectic collection of rock, blues, folk and country. I also perform a number of older rock and country songs. What can I say...if I like a song, I like to play it. When I write a song I am never quite sure what style its gonna be...it's usually up to the song itself."
John moved to Montana about a year ago from the Smoky Mountains area of Western North Carolina. Since making Hot Springs Montana his home he has performed in quite a few different venues including The Symes Hotel here in Hot Springs, the Home Bar in Troy, Raleigh's in Polson, Sean Kelly's in Missoula and The Silver Dollar Bar in ST. Ignatious.
John has recorded two projects to date, the first one, "If You Seen Me" is a collection of original songs recorded with quite a few of his friends from all over the country. His second project "American Nomad" is a completely acoustic CD of originals songs, some of which are on If You Seen Me "It's just me, my voice and my guitar."
Look for a CD to be released on Bear Grass Records in the near future

Say John, I see you have or are playing in Troy, Idaho (Libby, Montana area)...I worked on the Kootenai National Forest there in the late Fifties and fought forest fires in the area. I put up a song "Nobody's Dash but Mine," that refers to experiences there. I like your music; you are in a great region there. Verne |
