Biography
Music has always been a huge part of my life and in my teens was blown away by the simplicity and impact of folk music. In my teens I began playing the guitar and singing, writing the odd song here and there. I played around the folk clubs of the West of England, notably The Bristol Troubadour and Pipers Folk Club at Botallack in Cornwall. Being the daughter of a Forest of Dean Freeminer it was inevitable that I would write some songs about The Forest but in truth much of my free time these days is spent in Cornwall and this is the inspiration for many of my songs. the Cornish folk scene is still thriving and you can always have a good evening on Tuesdays at Cadgwith, a tiny fishing cove on The Lizard. My two albums to date are Candle in a Jam Jar which features songs of Bristol and The Forest of Dean and After the Storm which features songs of Cornwall.

Hello, Jan - I really like the organic sound of your recordings -- real instruments played by real people! Your songs are lovely; I especially liked 'Road to Penzance', 'Willow Tree', and 'Pattern of Angels'. Your voice reminds me a little of Anne Hills and Priscilla Herdman -- two of my favourite female folk musicians.
