The first Ocrastra album, recorded in London 2004/5

The songs......

1. One way world

One-way world a spaceman's view of earthmans' inhumanity to this planet.

2. Esensual

A love song that had it genesis in a session after some musicians tormented me.

3. There is a war

War is war, particularly the brutal one in Bosnia.

4. To the Bone

The Bone pays homage to my late brother, a great man on the bodhran.

5. Vagabond

This is an autobiographical song plotting my trek from Fermanagh to London.

6. Seani

This is the story of the struggle faced by a Fermanagh piper on the eve of the famine in Ireland in 1843. Not much call for dedicated musicians in those days, except at funerals. Seani, his wife Aggie and their three children are evicted and suffer at the hands of Mr Rule (the landlord's agent).

7. Hedges

Hedges recounts the tale of how Haringey Council and Wolsley (a 4 Billion USA globalised monopoly in the pipe industry) built 4 massive warehouses in a residential area opposite my house after felling about a 100 trees. I sued the lot of them and had the site declared illegal. However, the UK government, in its wisdom, failed to incorporate the European legislation properly so they think they got away with it ( for the moment) without paying a penny in fines and/or compensation. It now falls on me to bring the matter before the European Court.

8. Justice just a dirty word Justice

This is the story of the execution of John Baird Jr in Ohio in February 2002. He was innocent. I, like thousands of others , petitioned for a clemency. John put up a honourable fight through the Courts, but was put to death. His hands were gentle.

9. Wee War

Same War only different.

10. Shine

A silly song in a sensible sort of way.

11. Ode

Ode started off as a complaint about the current moves by Tony Blair and his mates to censor musicians in the UK through the new licensing laws. It uses the current crises in the Gulf as a backdrop.
