Biography
Telegraph Creek was formed in 2002 by Curt Clark and his longtime friends Georgia & Mike Simpson. After a couple of spits and starts, a few personnel and name changes Telegraph Creek was born. The current make-up of the band is Curt Clark on banjo/guitar and vocals, Mike Simpson on lead guitar/mandolin and vocals, Georgia Simpson on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Deryl Fidler on bass. They play an eclectic blend of Bluegrass, Folk, Country and traditional Old Time music as well as topical songs of humor. They have appeared at the Florida State Folk Festival, the Sarasota Folk Festival, the Dade City 'Gathering of Friends', the Sarasota Sailing Squadron Concert Series, Myakka River State Park's Full Moon Concert Series, Highlands Hammock State Park, The Collier-Seminole State Park's Pioneer Festival, the Acoustic Music Society of Southwest Florida's monthly concerts at Lee Civic Center, The Florida Mountain Bluegrass Festival, Benefit Concerts for The Old Myakka Schoolhouse and the Cortez Fishing Village as well as many other local venues and private functions. They have just completed their first CD and are hard at work on the second. The first "Its about Time!" is available at their appearances and here online.
