I am an amateur musican who lives in Central Illinois. My first banjo was a kit-built mountain banjo in 1976 I built when I was in college. I played almost constantly for about 15 years, then pretty much went dormant (or stagnant) for another 15 years or so. The year 2006 was significant, being both my 30th year of banjo playing and the 50th year of my life, so I decided to get myself a substantially better banjo (a Gold Tone white laydie) and also build a minstrel-style instrument. I have been having great fun remembering tunes and learning new styles. At the urging of my musical friend from years ago, Lyle Konigsberg, I have been putting up some of my tunes here on EZfolk, although I store most of my tune on my personal web site, not necessarily all of high quality.
