I'm looking for a strumstick kit or plans so i can handcraft one. Does anyone know where I can get either or. I have done a lot of google searches and find many strumsticks but no kits. I would appreciate your help.

I will second what Charlie said. Wendell Powell at the web address he gave you, does indeed make strumsticks and a variety of other neat instruments. He has plans on line that you can download. I don't know about making a kit for you. He might do that, cause as Charlie said, he is a very nice guy and super helpful.

I have one of his Longneck Dulcimers, and he is building me another one out of figured maple with a Chromatic scale and a piezo pickup in the saddle. I don't know if you want to build one yourself for the satisfaction of it , or if money is an issue. But, I can tell you that his prices are very low for a handmade, high quality instrument. Something to keep in mind. You can also get a kit for a strumstick type, 3 string dulcimer called " The Strumbly" from Musikit on line. Charlie has one, ask him about it.
