Hi everyone, I'm thinking about learning to play the Tsugaru shamisen.
I live in The Netherlands and as far as I know there aren't any shops
around here that sell shamisens, so I'd have to import one.

I've already got some experience playing the guitar, but I don't expect
that to be much of a help. I'd need some instructions on how to play
and I'd like some extra strings with it.

What model would you advise me, what would it cost and where should
I buy it?

A shamisen with extra strings!!!! I can't believe you thought of that before me, Fiddlefella will have all the answers and a book you need, Katoh sell Shamisens check them out on the web they are electric and start around 1800 dollars and from what I gather most decent ones electric or not start about there, I think a chap called tsugaru maybe has one for sale, no extra strings though.

Oh man, that's such a good lookin' bachi! (noticed even more when looking at the side view) Envy!

Nice that it's flexible. You'll be able to pull off a good Akita Nikata bushi!
