Richard -

I have a question about the ezFolk player.  I know it will play my tunes when people go to my site, but what if I, or someone else, wants to listen to one of my stations?  Is there any way to launch that on the player?

On the other skin (is that the word) that we had briefly, I was able to listen to my station with a pop-up player that was separate from my own I-Tunes (which is how I listen to music on my computer).  That was great.  Now, when I try to listen to my station, it just downloads all the songs into I-Tunes, and they're thrown into the mix.  I have to search for all the ezFolk people instead of having them all on one player.

Any ideas how to get around that?

Amy

Hi Amy,

I think that what worked well for you with that other skin (or theme) is the same thing that drove a lot of other people nuts. That Evolution theme is still there and you can go in to your control panel and change to it very easily. With that theme and any others except for the default Cobalt theme there will be some features that might work differently or not at all. You'll need to try it and see if it's what you want.

Something else you might want to take into consideration is that your computer setup is probably different than most users. If I go to your page I can use the built-in player without any problem, or I can go to your audio page and click on a song and it plays normally for me using Windows Media Player. Same thing when I click on one of your stations. No issues at all... they play just fine on Windows Media Player, which is my default MP3 player. I can't speak for everybody else but I think that's probably the most common setup.

I don't use I-Tunes so I'm not familiar with how it works, but apparently it's your default MP3 player and that's why it starts when you click on a song at ezFolk. Somebody else might be able to tell you how you can use I-Tunes for just your I-Tunes music and make your default MP3 player something else such as Windows Media Player. If you have Windows Media Player it's easy to set it as the default for your MP3s although I'm not sure how it would affect I-Tunes so you might want to check before changing it.

Hope that helps!

:hat:

Amy when I was using Itunes it would record every song that I played and as you said, you would have to go thru all and look for a song, so I made Windows Media player my default player and it will not record any except what I want it to, So I guess it is what ever one uses as their default player.

Maybe that is not what you are asking,  But I had a problem with I Tunes that way.

Charlie

Richard and Charlie -
thanks for the information.  I get what you're saying.  Makes sense.  Now all I have to do is figure out how to make Windows player my default...

I'm working on it, just takes me a while... ;)

Thanks again!
Amy

Amy,

To deactivate iTunes as your default:
  • From the Top Menu select Edit ---> Preferences - click the "Advanced" tab and uncheck the box labeled "use iTunes as the default player".  Click "OK"
To enable Windows Media Player as your default player:
  • From the Top Menu select Tools ---> Options.  From there click the "File Types" tab.  Select the "mp3" file type (or all file types if you want all your audio files to open up in Windows Media Player).  Click OK
Hope this helps
