Right now, I get error messages like this comes up when I click on an album page:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/erh777/public_html/audio/bands/245/Best_of_Loose_Change__Friends_instrumentals.php on line 904

When I click on the other pages, such as "events" they come up completely blank.

When everything is working, for some reason, the Umber Alert theme is unusually slow in rendering the pages, even when only 4 or 5 songs are selected per album.

Will,

I think the main problem is your use of the forward slash in a lot of the songs. Try removing that from all of the song names (replace it with a dash or something) and also be sure that none of the album names have slashes in them.

Somebody else had the same problem recently and changing this fixed it. That won't take care of the slowness though. I'm not sure why that theme is so slow but I don't know how to speed it up.

Hi Richard

I wonder is it connected to the embedded QT player for each song? That might slow it up a bit?

(As a side note, a couple of pages of mine went a bit weird again - I simply changed the theme, and then changed it back. Seems fine now.)

I have to say, these things are a mystery to me - good thing you're here!! :)

Dan :)

You could be right Dan... maybe the embedded player is what slows it down so much.

Just for the record, it's all a mystery to me too.

Richard-

You might check with your guru - I just tried to access my albums, and three of them come up with Will's Parse error: Clawhammer_Banjo, Desert_Guitar, and Live_at_The_Farmer's_Market. The other albums access properly. The other pages also come up blank like Will said.

(I have never been able to get the embedded player to work, either, so I don't know if it is worthwhile in there.)

Brad,

You need to make sure there are no forward slashes in your song names. I just checked yours and saw at least three songs with forward slashes, so remove those and everything should work.

Thanks, Richard, that took care of it.

Interesting that it suddenly came up. I had the slashes in the Christmas songs since I put it up in 04. Things continued to work even up to and after swapping themes. Was there a recent update to the software?

Brad

Now that you mention it Brad, there was an update pretty recently on that theme so it would handle videos. Maybe that's when it started.

It's probably a good practice to stay away from characters like the forward slash anytime you're naming a file to go on the Internet though since it's universally used to separate directories.

:hat:

Yes, yes, yes! I changed my site theme to the Umber Alert theme, and it seems that it's possible to post comments for the first time! (Richard Hefner knows what I mean.)

Having said that, I need somebody to email me a comment on my site, because I don't know whether I can receive comments by email.
