thanks Richard, hey at least I can add one more:) It really is fun playing these old songs...man, I've never heard some of them...I mean ever, until Tom brings us the lyrics and plays em. It's cool watching the people sing, most of them know every word...there is one lady (we've nicknamed her the "song leader") whom we haven't stumped yet. She told us that we have to learn a song called "Irish Eyes" for next month.

Charlie, our recordings aren't all that great either. I listened to you guys doing Lilly of the Valley and When the Saints go Marching in, and they may not be high fidelity (same situation we have), but they are GREAT and they convey the message that you are having a great time, and that really all we are after too!!! It also sounds like you've got the whole room singing! All we are using is a pocket recorder also. However, a computer mic is much more sensitive than the mics that come with the recorder...and really works great with one. We used to just set it on a table...but yesterday we set it up on a stand right in front  of us, and I think it worked a little better. You can see it in the is picture, the recorder is on the floor, with the mic sitting on a small stand.

Hey Dean thanks,  I see it on the floor and mike on the stand, I had not thought of putting a mike on it, I just bought a new mike and I will try that next week.

Some of our instruments did not sound up in the music, you could hear our pianio some but she is really good to play with, has good rhythm, also our Tenor banjo player you could hear good, But we also have a mandolin and guitar and mouth harp player and I played the 5 string banjo tuned to gGDBE. Thats a short neck.

We do have a good time no matter what and thats what counts, I have a few more to put up later tonight in that same program, We were lucky, Only 3 of our songs we  had that were no PD and one was Tennesse waltz and Mansion over the hill top and Just a Little Talk With Jesus.  So I will try and salvage the others and upload as many as I can.

Thanks for all the help

Charlie   :guitar1:
