Since I "pinch hit" when the piano player's not there, I sometimes play in church, and on occasion, get the opportunity to perform "special music" during offertory. Ah, the little things I look forward to. So I wrote this little song for the service: Kneel Stream Kneel Download What is interesting about it is that, as I was finishing it up at 12:00 Saturday night, I realized it was too high. So I tuned the uke down a whole step to Bb tuning. It's the Martin soprano, and seems to take the tuning well. When I woke up in the morn, my wife tried to get me to do a different piece (such confidence, eh?). I didn't listen to her (for a change) and performed this song. Elton John said one time, "When in doubt, write a hymn." I guess that's about right.

John that is a great song you wrote and performed, I know it is scary not to listen to our wifes some times, but it must have worked out fine Loved it Charlie

Yeah, don't tell her, but she's right MOST of the time. I think she was actually nervous for me, that I did this last-minute thing literally before going to bed. The next thing I did was wake up, shower, and go play the song. I did listen to a recording of it once before I left to refresh my memory.

Hi, That's a really nice song which builds very well, I especially like the bass line. Regards, Stig

Yeah, I was kind of shocked at how the bass made the song feel like it moved. It wasn't planned that way. I was also surprised that I actually had some rhythm going in that chorus part (some sort of personal achievement, I'm sure).

Uplifting to hear on a grey British morning. I occasionally play in church (weddings, funerals mostly) with my brothers, guitar, mandola, mandolin. I must say there is never a gig we take more seriously. I love the ringing sound of your uke. matches your voice perfectly.
