You can find it at the bottom of the list here:

or under "Political Folk"

Can one live in America and not be a hypocrite?

Thanks to Sue Jeffers and her excellent music for the inspiration! Seriously...check her out-- http://ezfolk.com/audio/bands/73/music.php

I should write a song about expensive guitars and the depletion of wood and resources, but that hits a little too close to home. Although...a uke is the environmentally conscious alternative to a guitar.

Perhaps the deepest discussions and arguments over the last 35 years have been derived from this very topic. What constitutes the moral imperative? I always wanted to believe that it starts by telling the truth.

One of the first speeches from Bush the 1st during the first war on Iraq included the line, "protecting our oil interests" I was floored. He told the truth. Then the speeches changed and Sadaam became the devil. Made Hitler look like an amateur. The reasons for our involvement became humanitarian.  Not a bad thing y'know but there appear to be a lot of places that need humantiarian involvement... oh that's right, no oil.

But wait a minute. I also like my shoes and guitars and I'd like to be able to afford them as well. (Conflicted)

Perception is a crazy thing. Recently, the Russian leader posed the question, " Could there be "free" elections in an occupied country?" Good question. I sometimes wonder if we can have free elections anywhere.

I believe in self defense and I believe in the moral imperative that justifies aiding those in need. My questions begin at what are the real reasons we go to war. I would prefer an administration that said. We can't allow so and so to damage/control the oil supply because it would affect our way of life. Than one who is saying, we are going to democratize them because it's a good thing.

Hypocrasy... In a country where we have the freedom and privelege to vote. Half the eligible voters do not. In the last couple of elections, the popular vote has actually been decided by a little more than 25% of the people eligible to vote.

Can I do with less or... am I entitled to more.

Maybe I just want to feel safe in my bed at night... what color is it today dear? green... ah that's good. I can sleep now.

Keep writing, keep playing......
