There's been a little bit of discussion about a new co-op song and with the Fourth of July just a month away it would be a great time for a patriotic song. Charlie mentioned it might be a good idea to not limit it to just one song but any song in the patriotic genre and I think that's a great idea. Beginning somewhere around the last week of June I'll put all of the patriotic songs on an ezFolk station and we'll prominently display the station on ezFolk so a lot of people can listen to it. In looking at the Patriotic genre this morning I was surprised to see that there were just three songs in the whole genre so it would really be nice to fill it up with some good songs. I added my own MP3 of The Star Spangled Banner and switched the genre of another patriotic song called Star Spangled Flower that I wrote (it's a combination of The Star Spangled Banner and Wildwood Flower), so now there are five in the genre but it would be great if we could get a lot more. I also added the guitar tablature for my arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner:

Way to go James and Charlie... glad to see you both jump on it! I'm going to send out a message to all of the MP3 artists on ezFolk later today or tomorrow so hopefully we'll have a lot of submissions this time around.

ok.. I thought this was a great idea... so here is one my whole family did.. I am playing guitar, my Wife is doing vocals, and my 9yo son is doing Voice over.... hope you all like it.... It's called Let freedom Ring... I dont know how to put a link to it on here, so, I will link to my page...

Hey Jim, That's a great patriotic song, and your wife and son did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing! To make a link you can just copy (CTRL-C) the appropriate text and graphics on your MP3 page and paste it (CTRL-V) in the forum like this... Let Freedom Ring (by Jim Koontz & Family)...  play hi-bitrate play lo-bitrateAlso, click on "My Account" in the forums and you can add a signature that includes your MP3 page or anything else.

Thanks for the help on that one!!! By the way, I should add that this was put together in a fairly short time... All together it was about 25 minutes... The ideas are mostly my Wife and Dusty's.. The line about your little boy coming back from school really got to me, I have a little boy right now who's starting school and I so desparately want time to stand still. Dear Mike; Thank you so much for your heartfelt words.... Please do me a favor and take the time to cherrish the little moments with your son. It is impossible to stress enough how important they can become later on. I missed so much with my children while they were growing up, spending so much energy trying to provide a good home for us all. While it is important to be a good provider I now think back to the many many times my son wanted to play or talk and I was just to busy.... i would give everytrhing I have or ever hope to have for just one of those moments now...... Time truly does slip away from us..... If my song brought you to a point that made you stop for just an instant to think about your own child give him a hug and a kiss, tell him you love him and hold that moment in your heart. someday that one instant in your life could be your most valuable memory......
