I just picked up a Gibson Blackjack at First Quality in Louisville this past weekend and it's a wonderful banjo. I think it would be hard to find one any better, new or old included. Still have my first banjo, and Alvarez Archtop (Whyte Laydie - Eagle) Model. Selling my Earl Scruggs Standard as soon as I can.

Nice-looking bano Mohler - Congratulations!

I'll list what I've got:

I'm awaiting a 20's Vega tenor Little Wonder with an 11 13/16th" rim - I bought it over the weekend for conversion to 5 string -

Last week I picked up a sweet little Bart Reiter A scale 5 string

other recent(since January) additions to the banjo seraglio ~

A Flesher 5 string 12" rim ebony tone ring

A late 20's Bacon & Day "Super A" 11" rim short scale tenor w/ Silver bell tone ring

20's Bacon "Blue Ribbon" 11.5" rim short scale tenor w/ silver bell tone ring

A one off 5.5 string open back by a luthier in WV

A Vega Professional with a Tu-ba-phone tone ring

Then there's my core group of 5 string banjos

A Wildwood Troubadour w/ tubaphone ring

A Ramsey Custom Electric w/ 12" rim and Whyte Laydie tone ring

An Ome Sweetgrass Professional Gold with a Silver Spun tone ring -----to die for this banjo is!

I just sold off my Huss & Dalton Singletree - shipped it today :?

Two weeks ago I sold my 1890's Bruno Manhattan 3 5 string ...sweet banjo

(soundfile http://members.aol.com/beeconk/cluck-old-hen.mp3

few months before it was my Bart Reiter standard and my Ramsey Cherry Special A scale on the auction block.

Then there's the 1920's - 30's Vega tenors....

Whyte Laydie w/ 11 13/16" rim...strung up as a ukulele now ;)

Tu-ba-phone

3 Style N's, one in a luthier's shop for conversion to a flush fret 5 string

Then there's 2 Slingerland tenors...one Gretsch and 3 older no name tenors for parts.

one Lyon & Healy mando banjo and one no name uke banjo

and finally - a baystate 310 5 string project, a Lyon & Healy "Star" 5 string project, and a Gretsch 5 string project.
