hi, its been 3 weeks since i started to play the ukulele.i have problems with my finger joints.  its diff to straighten then, e.g. i cannot make a bridge to play pool or snooker.
i can strum down with my thumb and it sounds OK.  but when i use my index finger it just sounds muffled with no clear sounds coming from each string.  when i use the soft pleck i get pleasant notes out of every string i strum.
ideally i like to just use my fingers when i do on the up stroke i hit some strings get caught on some strings that end up sounding louder then the rest.
am not sure whether to just carry on with the pleck and continue learning the chords with my left hand.  maybe in months to come i can try without the pleck again.
any thoughts out there you care to share?
thanks

Steve
