Hi all. I bought a Pono PKB1-E, after searching the opinions of these ukulele forums. The sticker inside, and the dealer's website, says that it is an all solid wood uke. Is that statement accurate, even though both top and bottom have a seam running down their center, the grain not a unified match?

Yes. Solid wood means "not plywood."

Thanks. Now it has me curious as to any noticeable difference, to the general ear, between single piece tops and butterflied (I think that's what the Pono's is called).

You will not hear a difference unless you have ears comparable to a dog's nose, if you know what I mean. Most tops of instruments are 2 pieces of wood joined together in the center. Most try to bookmatch the pieces, but as to the tonal differences, minimal.
