I happened to be surfing the gold tone web site and saw the new open back ":shock:Elite Classic".  Wow!!!! Sure looks nice:P!  Has anyone in cyberspace touched, played or heard one.  I'd like to hear the reactions.  How does it play?  How does it sound?  What was the quality of construction?  Does it look like it will hold up?

Thanks in Advance

Mike

What a great looking banjo! I looked around but couldn't find anybody selling it although there are some good pictures of it on the Turtle Hill banjo site...

I couldn't find a price for it anywhere, even on the Gold Tone site. I'm sure it's a good quality banjo though... never saw a Gold Tone I didn't like.

I tracked down one at Accoustic Music Works in Pgh., Pa..  Stopped in Friday to touch, see and smell.  I liked what I saw.  It sounded "old-timey".  Seems to be well built.  I played on it.  It felt very playable.  Neck is the same as the Whyte Ladye.  Would not want to scoop the neck,  the inlay at the bottom of the neck is too nice to cut out.  Retail $1,299.00, their price $975.00.  I'm in LOVE!!!!!!!!!

I saw and played one of these at a local music store here in northern Virginia. Sure is pretty, but for my tastes I liked
the sound of their maple mountain or whyte ladie models...make sure you try those out for yourself.
