Hey Folks,

I can understand why you might not want to give away too much information when you sign on to this or any other website, but please consider adding your city and state if you haven't done so.

Click on my state on the left side of this message and you'll notice that it shows all of the people from North Carolina. You can also click on different states on the USA map that pops up and see who else might be from your area.

It's optional of course, but not only will it be more interesting to see where everyone is from but you might meet some new local friends in the process.

If you didn't add it when you first signed up just click on "My Account" and do it now.

Thanks!

:thumbs1:

Adding to that, may I suggest people who already have a homepage to publish the link here.

Here's mine:

When answering questions in the forums it helps to have information about the other people, so we can understand his focus, musical tastes, and so on.

Hey, Richard, you slacker! Only 263 posts? What kind of a site host are you? (besides WAY too busy?)

When you enter your city and state, you must also enter the country or you don't show up on the USA map (I just checked, and had to add country to my profile, 'cause it said there weren't any members in Arizona).

Looking forward to the MP3 hosting - maybe I'll get a little busier on doing some recording, now.

:thumbs2: Keep on pickin'
Brad

Oops! :shoot: I just double-checked, and I had state as part of the town! After fixin' all, it should be right, now!

(I'm still looking for a 'senior moment' emoticon!)

Now that is a neat feature that I didn't know about previously.

I've often been curious as to where various people were from.  Perhaps more will edit their account to show their city, state and country.

Joe

I am from Durham, NC and I am fortunate to live near the state of NC meeting site for the Uke players. Our last meeting was very good and all levels of players were there. Billie B.

Richard, I've tried a number of times to save the profile with the state (Michigan) in the state box, but it drops the state when I save it. I've had to put the state in with the city to show it. That tells people where I am, but doesn't include me in the state member count.

Dear Richard,

Here in England we do not have very many states, save for ignorance and bliss.

In England they have shires.

In Ireland we have counties.

We have passed the good news about your site on to all who matter.

All love the site.

Sorry - imagine I am one of those you are addressing. I am extremely new to forums; joined the first just last week. I added city and state to my profile following your instruction. Thanks.

Davebough... I was able to go in and choose your state without any problem. You're now listed under Michigan.

Seamus... I listed you under "United Kingdom." You can add a city or whatever under "My Account" if you want to.

Lynn... You did fine... this wasn't aimed at you or anybody else in particular. If you look at the top message, I started this thread over a year ago when almost nobody listed their location. It's somewhat better now... I think maybe 30% or so of users now have their location listed. It's still a nice thing to do and makes it more interesting.

:hat:

;) Like that? I also noticed that in your profile settings there is no way to place a sig. :(

PS This is more a test to see if I got it right. :D
