From back to front:

This sunday I finished the "finals" in auditioning for Nashville Stars  http://www.nashvillestarcasting.com
Sometime this month I'll hear whether I go to Nashville for the show.

Saturday me and about 4000 others did the stage 2 auditions.  This was the result of 8 national auditions, and the one Saturday was the first of 4 regional auditions.  Out of the 4000, two or three hundred, myself included, were invited back for the final winnowing down on Sunday (March 9).

There will be three more "regionals".  Washington DC., Austin, Texas, and Nashville, Tenn.  From these another batch of "finalists" will be chosen to make up the 30 to 50 that will compete on the actual TV presentation which starts about May 26 and runs to about August 8th (10 weeks).

I lucked into this.  I had no intention of entering, but was called by a friend to play a song at a special 3 hour show he was setting up.

One of the audience members was a talent scout for the casting agency that was setting up the TV show, and he picked 5 or 6 "acts" to bypass the Nationals and go directly to the regional auditions.  I was one of those picked.  Of the 6 or so, only one other made the call-back for the finalists.

My number in line was 3594, just to give you an idea of the turnout.  Yesterday I was supposed to audition at 1300 hrs, but they ran so late, that I did not get in until about 1730.

If you are interested in more BS about the whole situation, read my Blog page.  The last 4 or 5 (starting with February 10th), spell out the whole sordid story.

To your possible regret, I'll keep you posted.

Dusty

Regarding that part.  The show will start with a lead-in program or two showing the auditions (some), and the screaming hordes of "wannabes", culled from the four (4) sites (LA, Wash. DC, Nashville, Austin), as a "Trailer" to introduce the show to follow in a week or so.

You might, and the operative is "might", see me in some of the promo material, or as part of the mob of maniacs in the LA shoot.

Of course, if I do make the "BIG ONE".  I'll let you know.

Dusty

AHAH!  I just figured it out.  The default type size is 0.  The next is 1 etc.  3 is larger than I wanted but I thought the default was 1.

Well, I made the last 200 but not the final 125 for the show.  It will be aired (first Pre-show run), on the 9th on NBC.

This will probably be the "intro" special with clips of the "made its" and "Sorry try againers".

The recordings and eliminations started the 26th of May and are to run until 8 August.  With the first preview on the 9th it looks like it will end sometime in September or October.

Two hours to whet your appetite for the main show.  I think a couple of my friends made it, but they have a "Non-disclosure" contract until the show is running or over.

Keep an eye out for Cory Case, for one.  Good performer, writer-singer.  If they let him do his thing, he's good.

Dusty
