I was trying out a Stagg mandola in Ducks in Bath yesterday and apart from busting a G I thought it was OK for £49.00 GBP. Construction looked OK, although the uncoated interior wood looked like it had come from a fruit box. I noticed some other Stagg mandolins - all very cheap. Is Stagg a Far East brand? Are their instruments any good? Couldn't find anything on the Web about them.

Hi Adrain, I am not sure where they come from, I have had Staggi concertinas and they are made in Germany, May not be the same company at all. Alot of mandolins are hand carved if it is a arch top or bottom, but if they are cheap in price, they are probly cheaply made. do you have one are just looking at them. Charlie
