A Monthly Theme
We have all been there, strumming away, staring out of the window, I want to write a song, but what song, what subject, what do I want to say.
Some time ago, Members would come up with a monthly theme, so in Facebook some of us have been talking about it, and Gene came up with "The Occupy Movement" certainly a subject that will find many mixed feelings, this is not a competition, just a bit of fun, so the subject from now until Feb 28th has been set. as for March, if people want to make suggestions, we will find a different subject, and so on and so forth. I hope this meets with your approval, and I look forward to listening to everyone's entries.

Have You Had Enough?
by Reggie Miles © 2012 All right reserved

Have you had enough of tax breaks for the one percent,
When you can't feed your family, or pay your rent?
Have you had enough of Wall Street's investments
Reapin' record bonuses at your expense?

Chorus:
Have you had enough?
Have you had enough?
Have you had enough?
Have you had enough?

Have you had enough of inequality?
Jail the poor, while white collar crooks run free
Have you had enough of how they feather their nest,
With whatever they can rob and steal from the rest?
Chorus

Have you had enough of Super PAC cash,
Ending up in politician's re-election stash?
Have you had enough of democratic delusions,
Corrupt politicians and their corporate collusions?
Chorus

Have you had enough of our constitution's dilution,
By politicians we elect to find the solution?
Have you had enough of corporate rights,
Deemed more important than individual plights?
Chorus

Have you had enough of the one percent,
Buying their way into our government,
Only serving corporate greed
And no regard for the 99 percent's need?
Chorus

I'm Makin' My Stand
by Reggie Miles © 2011 All rights reserved

Ain't gonna sink any lower, I'm makin' my stand
Ain't gonna sink any lower, I'm makin' my stand
Ain't gonna sink any lower, I'm makin' my stand till this storm is over
Ain't gonna sink any lower, I'm makin' my stand

Gonna stand as one together, I'm makin' my stand
Gonna stand as one together, I'm makin' my stand
Gonna stand as one together, hand in hand to make the whole world better
Gonna stand as one together, I'm makin' my stand

Gonna fight for what is right, I'm makin' my stand
Gonna fight for what is right, I'm makin' my stand
Gonna fight for what is right, drive away darkness with my light
Gonna fight for what is right, I'm makin' my stand

Gonna occupy this street, I makin' my stand
Gonna occupy this street, I makin' my stand
Gonna occupy this street, I refuse to accept defeat
Gonna occupy this street, I makin' my stand

Gonna occupy this world and make our stand
Gonna occupy this world and make our stand
Gonna occupy this world with our battle flag unfurled
Gonna occupy this world and make our stand
