I just uploaded my video tutorial for Banks of the Ohio (key of D) for the Basic Ukulele Video Course. I think I’ve finally figured out that I should just work on one video at a time and complete it and upload it before going on to the next one, so I’m pretty sure I’ll make better progress now. All of the videos can be found here…

Here’s the new one by itself…
I’m finally back to work on the “Basic Ukulele Video Course” after getting sidetracked for a few weeks. Today (04/25/13) I uploaded 4 new videos so it’s now more than 50% complete with 24 of the 45 videos completed. Today I added Church in the Wildwood (Key of A), The Crawdad Song (Key of A), Intro to the key of D, and My Old Kentucky Home (Key of D)…

Three Principal Chords in the Key of A (A, D, and E7)…
Hard Times Come Again No More…
You may remember that yesterday’s upload of Will the Circle be Unbroken was kind of a mess. I re-recorded it this morning and I think it’s much better — back to my normal standard of imperfection!
Today I added the classic gospel song, “A Beautiful Life,” to the Basic Ukulele Video Course…
I added a new video for Mountain Dew today and also one that introduces the 3 principal chords in the key of F. Here’s Mountain Dew…
I added two new videos this morning to the Basic Ukulele Video Course…

Just click on the link above to visit that section. I’m still on track to release at least two videos each week.
I’ve added the first seven videos to the Basic Ukulele Video Course. It’s designed for new uke players but will be helpful for some more experienced players too. It’s completely free and can be found here…

The menu options that aren’t linked in yet are not completed but I’ll be adding at least two new videos every week until it’s completed.
If there’s enough interest in it I’ll be doing other video courses like this in the same format. For me, uploading videos to YouTube then linking to them into ezFolk works out perfectly because YouTube does a much better job with the video than I can do and it doesn’t cost me anything to host the videos, plus there’s free exposure for the ezFolk website through YouTube, which all adds up to a good deal for me.
It’s not ready yet but will be available soon. I wanted to mention it now for those who might have received a ukulele for Christmas and are interested in finding resources on the Internet. I’ll be releasing this Basic Ukulele Video Course in sections with at least two new videos ready each week, and it will be entirely free. The course will cover 18 songs in the 5 most commonly used keys on the uke along with some music theory. It will provide a good foundation for more advanced playing techniques such as fingerstyle uke and clawhammer uke, and I’m hoping to add free comprehensive courses for those on ezFolk as well. Also in 2013 I’d like to do some similar things with banjo and guitar now that I’m retired and have some time on my hands.
