John Prine is my favorite songwriter of all time thanks to his quirky lyrics and simple melodies. This is one of my favorites. According to a John Prine biographer, Spanish Pipedream is “a hilarious Age of Aquarius anthem, the hippie commune ideal summed up in less than four minutes.”
