Note: I’m returning the website to life after unceremoniously dumping it a couple of years ago. The goal is for it to complement my YouTube videos with links pointing back to this site. I’m working my way backward through those YouTube videos and will try to correct broken links and supply tablatures and anything else I have alluded to in the videos. Once I’ve completed all of the videos, I plan on going through them and adding lyrics sheets so all of the songs can be printed. Finally, I might make some new videos after it’s all done.
Where to Begin
You should start with the Basic Ukulele course if you’re a beginner. It contains more than 30 videos specifically for beginners that will teach you the basic chords you need to get started.
As a former clawhammer banjo player, one of my favorite techniques is clawhammer uke. If you learn the techniques I teach in the four videos of my Clawhammer Ukulele Tutorial, that’s all you need to know to play all my clawhammer arrangements.
If you want to learn the Fingerstyle and Travis Picking arrangements, check out the Fingerstyle Ukulele Tutorial.
Anyone who needs help with strumming patterns used in the “Strum-Alongs” should refer to the Strumming Tutorial.
If you’re just interested in learning new songs, choose a favorite artist from the Tags menu, such as John Prine or Willie Nelson.
Use the Category section if you’d like to focus on a particular style, such as Folk or Country, or if you want to find songs in a specific key or use a particular style of picking.
