Marijohn Wilkin wrote a number of hit songs including “Long Black Veil” and Stonewall Jackson’s big hit, “Waterloo,” but later in life she began writing only Christian songs, and in 1975 her song “One Day at a Time,” won a Dove Award as Song of the Year. She recorded several gospel albums on Word Records in the 1970s and this is one of my favorites.
